Vokalni duet Mary Udovich (1897–1965) in Josephine Lausche (1894–1990) sta pevki ustanovili 1913 v Clevelandu. Josephine, ki je začela peti že zgodaj, je prevzela vodilni sopran, Mary pa je pela alt. Pogosto ju je na klavirju spremljal Josephinin brat dr. William J. Lausche (1898–1967), ki je poleg tega skrbel tudi za njun repertoar kot skladatelj in aranžer. V slovenske pesmi je vključil elemente klasične glasbe, jazza in popularne glasbe. Zložil je več slovenskih polk in valčkov, s katerimi je močno vplival na razvoj slovenske polka glasbe v Clevelandu. Prve posnetke so posneli 1924 za založbo Victor, tri leta kasneje pa so začeli sodelovati z založbo Columbia. Na nekaterih posnetkih je duet spremljal studijski orkester Columbia. Med posnetimi pesmimi prevladujejo slovenske ljudske pesmi, prirejene v ritmu valčka ali polke. Nekatere, na primer Cingel-congel, Treba ni moje ljub’ce plavšati, Imam dekle v Tirolah, Kadar boš ti vandrat šu, Kaj mi nuca planinca in Ta marela so v Ameriki dosegle visoko raven priljubljenosti.
